1X designs humanoid robots built to benefit society. Started in Moss, Norway, 1X combines advanced robotics hardware with the latest artificial intelligence models to produce “embodied intelligence.” 1X’s goal is to create general purpose androids to support humans in work, at home, and throughout the modern world.

I led the team at GrandArmy to create a brand identity for 1X that aligns with the company's ethos. Unlike many of the cold, rigid humanoids that exist today, 1X’s brand is rooted in soft, organic forms and warm Scandinavian design. 1X is a lifestyle brand, breaking from the norms of an industry focused on controlled, commercial environments. Using a bright, aspirational system of design and language, 1X inspires everyday people to imagine how humanoids will practically benefit their lives.
